That's a good thought thanks. I was hoping to have diagnostics check that sort of thing without stripping the car to pieces to get at the motor again. It had a brand new fan motor fitted only 6 months ago..........which didn't sort it but a replacement ECU did. Alas, another replacement ECU did not ...

Thanks for your reply. Yes, i had looked and came to the same conclusion but i wanted to be certain one way or another. Looks like i will have to take the car to an ALFA dealer...........
