When you have actually connected to the relevant ECU (e.g. engine) then MES on the Parameters tab (F4) will show all the coded available parameters that can be read.
To check this out without connecting to the car use the Simulate (F10) mode.

NO! MES is Standalone. No Internet connection is required after download.

Have you gone into Settings and checked the COM ports / devices listed? You can Test your interface as well for connection etc.

Generally when diagnostic kit connected to the car one or more dashboard lights will come on. ABS is a common one. As long as when you disconnect, after resetting any errors, all the light go out then there is nothing to worry about.

If your Bluetooth dongle interface that you plug into the EOBD socket is not a multiplexing one the you need to plug the appropriate adapter cable in to EOBD socket and then your dongle into the end of that cable. You should be OK but keep a notes of keys and also purchase information. The hardware key should not change.

For the Engine ECU, Gearbox and ABS you do not needed the yellow Adapter.

Try disconnecting the SGW Bypass. If you can then read all the control units etc. then I would suspect and bad SGW Bypass adapter.
