Upgrading Uconnect 5'' radio unit for an android one : proxy alignement necessary ?

Post by balou86 »

Hello :)

Wondering if anyone had done a similar operation,

On my 2019 Fiat Doblo 263 1.3 Multijet, I'm planning to replace the basic radio unit (Ucconnect 5'') , with an android multimedia unit.

Reading the specs , I understand it should be delivered with a CAN-BUS adapter wich seems to be the RP5-FT-002 from SimpleSoft.

I'm wondering if I will need to do a proxy alignment procedure (basic ? custom ?) ?
My understanding is I should not need to , as the canbus adapter should emulate some sort of "pre-aligned" unit .

I did a similar replacement recently on my old opel corsa , and didnt need to tinker anything.

Thanks for any feedback :)

Feedback after installation of the Android headunit : no need for a proxy alignement.

Although there's a "U1725-87 - Entertainment Telematic Module" missing message present in the Body Computer ECU, the CAN Setup reports no need for an alignment (EOL Ok at the ETM line in CAN Setup) and everything is working fine.
