Bluetooth OBD elm327 & strange port name...

Post by spidertje »

Just bought a bluetooth odb elm 327 adapter for my Lancia Yp. Intention was to reset the service interval.

Multiecuscan does find the bt adapter on the correct ports, windows 7 home, but makes the name of the used ports port4/5 with a chines sign at the end, and therefore inthinknthat multiecuscan does not recognize the correct port settings...weird weird...

i.e with a scanning tool deliverd with the bt adapter i can read the engine faults/sensors etc. So the adepter is just fine.

What do i need to do to get the bt adapter working with multiecuscan?? I am using a registered 2.5 version of fes.

it's a known issue.
At the moment you have to find out what is the correct port and set it manually in multiecuscan.
So uncheck the box of automatic port list and try it again.

I never use the automatic function. But only can choose a port with a strange chinese sign next to it. Only in multiecuscan this symbol pops up..,

as i know, it may happen when the checkbox "Show available ports only" is checked/unchecked more times.
I noticed that if you uncheck that box you get the full ports list without any strange character.

Thanx!!! It works indeed without the automatic listing. It bit unstable but fine for resetting the service interval.
