NO ECU RESPONSE issue

Hello,

I have a big problem connecting to the engine ECU of my Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0TS Phase1, 1995.
I have a registered version of Multiecuscan 5.3, validly set port, latency set to 1. Multiecuscan recognizes my VAG/KKL cable, the test runs validly. When trying to connect to the ECU, I get the message "NO ECU RESPONSE".
I tried on win10 and then transferred the license to winXP with the same result. I tried probably 100 times...

What am I doing wrong?

Thaks a lot
Michal

Hi,
I had the same issue with my Ducato. The test in the tool worked well but no connection to the ECU MODULE.
This is probably the interface. For me, I am using the vLinker for my other vehicule (Ford Transit). It worked for the test, but not for the scan itself.
I just ordered a dedicated cable which shall be working well for any cars.

It will arrive in few days.

cheers

Me again,

I tried again with the (good) red cable called OBDLink SX but there is still no connection to the ECU.
Tried also with the green adapter, same thing.

My problem is, that the ECU is not releasing the fuel pump. When I bridge the fuel pump relais, engine works fine.
So, the ECU is not dead, but is not responding.

Now I cannot read the ECU and I cannot fix my Ducato. Two garages denied any repair (A FIAT and A free one).
The second told me that the ECU is down and has to be replaced which will cost 1600€.

Any ideas from anyone here?

(I replaced a lot and checked the ECU by ECU.de, all is good)

What year is the Ducato? And where are you located?
