Unable to Operate ABS Actuators or Adjustments

Hello,
I’m attempting to use MES 5.4 to help bleed air out of the ABS manifold after stupidly letting all the fluid drain out of the system on my 147 GTA.
I’m very fresh to MES and diagnostics tools in general so bear with me while I try to explain!
I have the registered version of MES 5.4 and connecting to the car via a laptop with an ELM327 cable and the green adaptor.
The software appears to connect to the car absolutely fine and I’m able to perform actions, for example, turning on the radiator fan.
I’ve connected to ABS 5.7 VDC as that’s the module the software detects when scanning for available modules.
I’ve scanned for any fault codes and nothing comes up.
In order to bleed the system I’m using the ‘hydraulic system bleed’ procedure in the ‘adjustments’ tab. The notes suggest that the brake pedal should first sink to the floor, then rise back up during the procedure, however this doesn’t happen, in fact nothing seems to happen. The in progress window pops up for around 5 seconds, suggesting that the procedure is running but I get no noises from in and around the engine bay and no feedback through the brake pedal.
I then tried running the various ‘drain/fill valve’ and ‘pump motor’ operations in the ‘actuators’ tab but again, the software gives the impression these actions are taking place but there’s no noises or feedback to suggest that the ABS is actually doing anything.
It screams to me that the ABS isn’t working at all but surely the software would show this by either not connecting or showing an error when scanning for codes, yet I get nothing?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks,
Harvey
