I also have a USB cable also Elm with modification (removes resistor) but unfortunately not with the ABS and Airbags.

Hello

With the ELM interface you can only connect to the ECU of your Alfa 156 produced.

For the ABS and airbag you need a KKL interface. (modified or with adapter)

This you can see in the list of Supported Vehicls.

To remove the resistor for the CAN bus is important to read.
But the 156 does not have any CAN bus

I used VAG COM for my VW with a homemade interface that worked perfectly.
If I would use this interface with the adapter cable (red / green / yellow) then it should work?

Hello

Yes I do think it works.
Only I do not know your Homemade interface.

But why it should not work

With VAGCOM self-built interface. I could read everything and adjust.
I will try it and if it works I will let you know.

For now thanks

Hi Eddy,
Unfortunately, my homemade interface adapter with the red, green, yellow adapter does not work.
So I need to find a KKL interface.

Thank you for the advice.

Hi,

Having read this thread I bought myself a K409 interface from here http://autodia.de/produkte/autodia-k409 ... sche-daten which I suppose to be KKL. However I still can't connect to Airbag and getting something like "Can't connect to ECU. Please check cable and port settings". Connecting to Engine runs fine.

Please advise.

Regards,
Tim.

Hello

By KKL but you should come to your motor controller!
Have you installed the FTDI driver for the KKL?
And the settings in the Control Panel and Multiecuscan
changed?

For ABS and airbags you need either a modified KKL
or
The two adapter cables.

Which vehicle do you want to read?

Greetings Eddy
