Hi All
Does anyone have experience or suggestions for a non-communicating Brera?
I changed the COM setting and the program (KKL cable) works fine on my 2001 156, but nothing on the Brera???

Re: No communication with 2006 Brera
The only modules that you can connect with KKL interface on Brera are Engine and ABS.
However, the only currently supported engine is Bosch EDC16C39. So, if your engine is not Bosch EDC16C39 then you cannot connect to it.
The rest of the modules on Brera (Airbags, Service Reset, etc.) are on the CAN network and you need an ELM interface to connect to them.

Thanks Yani.
Yes, I was trying to connect to the engine only...this is the 2.4 JTD (200bhp) which should be ok I think?

No-one else having problems with a Brera...or perhaps I should be asking if anyone HAS connected to a Brera with the standard KKL interface?

Re: No communication with 2006 Brera
The plot thickens...I'm unable to connect with one of those generic hand held code readers either, yet the proper Alfa diagnostic at the garage works
Any ideas?

Re: No communication with 2006 Brera
Did you try with different KKL interface? And I mean an interface which is different than yours - from different supplier or with different PCB.
It is possible that there is bad ground or signal noise on the OBD connector. Some KKL interfaces have good design and work very stable with low voltage, noise, etc., others don't work stable when there is noise or low supply votage.

Re: No communication with 2006 Brera
No, I'm assuming the KKL is ok because it works fine on my 156.
I think it's a good quality KKL, came from a reputable source anyway.
Should I still try another, could you recommend one?

Re: No communication with 2006 Brera
Success!
My lead was purchased with a jumper switch already installed (by Sander). Because it worked ok on my 156 I didn't think it needed switching for the Brera...but it does
Fault codes cleared and played with a couple of sensor lights
Great software, thanks...now what shall I do with the ELM 327 lead that's on it's way
