Connection Error - Engine ECU Module

Post by mrdelmonti »

Evening,

I've recently serviced my Fiorino 1.3 Multijet. I've been able to reset the service indicator etc using the yellow adaptor with a USB ELM327 interface.

I have removed the resistor on the interface as per viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1493

Whenever I try to connect to the engine ecu module I get a connection error.

I've checked and I'm running the latest drivers, the COM port is set to the correct bitrate.

I've no idea what to try next or what might be going wrong.

Please help!

I think it's an interface issue, the latency is showing as too high and unfortunately as it's not a genuine ELM chip I can't adjust it (Prolific) so I've ordered a new interface optimised for MES in the hope that my problem will be solved.

Any other suggestions are still welcome.

Ok, well my new cable arrives today and I can connect BUT now I have found out that apparently my engine ECU is unsupported by the software, but it's listed in the documentation, or so I thought?
