Can only read info Alfa Giulia QV

Post by benkay »

Hi all,

I've got the multiplex license with CANtieCAR v4 adaptor.

I'm trying to clear codes on my Giulia 2.9 V6 (QV). Unfortunately I can't seem to do anything than read codes.

Clearing them fails, as does trying to execute any actuator test etc.

When scanning for modules I do see "SGW Module Detected! Active diagnostics will not be possible on this vehicle!"....I'm guessing this is related, but the notes on MES website show that the software should support code clearing etc on this model of car....how can I do that?

Thanks, Ben

Did you ever get an answer for this. I just bought multiecuscan and I'm looking to see which device is best and compatible. I had several error on my car the other day (ESC, Service throttle, ATV and AST failure. I was hoping in the future I would be able to clear the codes myself rather than having to go to the dealership.

As I understand it, Giulias made since early 2018 have the SGW device which prevents MES and OBD readers from clearing DTCs.

There is some more detail on the alfaowner.com forum.

Also I understand that SGW defeat devices now exist. See:

Fortunately, I don't have this problem as my Giulia is a 2017 model.
