Fiat 500C 0.9 Twinair Proxy Alignment Issue

Post by lechu »

Hi!

My fiat 500c has suffered battery drain, after quick research found its blue and me that causing it so disconnected it. Bought the MES software to do the proxy alignment however I cant connect to body computer unit... Every single time. I can scan vehicle, clear errors, look into different things but proxy alignment is not possible. What is strange, upon scanning the car I found that the BCM is Delphi 595 which is normally in fiat 500 1.4 turbo and abarth! So I tried to do the proxy from that tab in MES but still no joy! Milage is flashing, blue and me is disconnected, 130gbp for the tool down the drain... I am using vlinker fs with yellow a3 cable provided by the uk distributor gendan, running it on windows 11.. maybe someone has experienced something like this before and solved it?

this is what i see on the scan, bear in mind my car is 2014 fiat 500 convertible 0.9 twinair

Try without the Yellow adapter cable. I believe vLinker does all the necessary pin configurations without the use of adapter cables. The adapter cable is most likely stopping / re-routing communication.

Tried without the yellow adapter cable without luck. Both in my car 0.9 twinair menu as well as abarth menu. Tried both proxies options. Getting same message failed to connect to bcm.

Just ordered obd link SX gonna try with this one tomorrow hopefully I can sort it and send it back to Amazon 🤞

Some things to check:

o Are you sure you don't have and Security Gateway (SGW) on your car(s)?
o Early non integrated into Body Computer Module (BCM) SGW units blocked all write / proxy functions
o Later SGW integrate into BCM may only be blocking some write functions, like Proxy and other configuration/security related functions
o Some vehicles for Proxy require high connection data rates. I hit this problem with my 500X

How can I bypass SGW if there is one do you know and how/where I could find it on my 2014 Fiat 500C? I read SGWs were installed in 2018 onwards models..

I also have blue and grey cable with my MES package, gonna try them both tomorrow and in the meantime I research more about SGW.

Thank you for your thoughts kind sir

Problem solved.

Received obdlink sx today, attached yellow cable(A3) and managed to connect to computer to do the proxy alignment. Worked first time, changed steering wheel button configuration to 6 buttons since blue & me has being disconnected and ran the proxy with success. No more milage flashing. No more errors all wiped out with 1 touch. Great!

Thank you Amazon for borrowing me obdlink for a second 😂

Why didn't it work with vlinker? I've read on forescan about the recall of the vlinker - some of the MSI laptops cannot transfer data properly with it and I'm using MSI laptop for all the diagnostic.

Really pleased you have solved/found the problem.

I only use OBDLink SX with MES and apart from a very early issue which Yani solved with some later vehicles requiring fast link connection I have not had any issues.
